Bat removal and exclusion in Regina

Humane bat exclusion, one-way cone planning and attic clean-up guidance for Regina and Saskatoon properties. Bats are protected, so the work has to be done correctly and at the right time of year.

What you get

How to tell you have bats

Bats enter through very small gaps at the roofline, gable ends and where fascia meets brick. The first evidence usually shows on the exterior wall below the entry point rather than inside the building.

Watching the building at dusk is the fastest way to confirm it. Bats leave the roost within a predictable window after sunset and use the same exit point every night.

What to look for

How bat exclusion works

You cannot trap or poison bats in Canada, and you should not want to. The method is to let them leave and prevent them returning.

Roost inspection

We identify the roost, map every entry point and establish whether dependent young are present before proposing any work.

Timing assessment

Exclusion is scheduled for a window that is both legal and humane. If it is the wrong time of year we will tell you and book it properly.

One-way exclusion

Cones and valves are fitted so bats can leave but cannot re-enter. Nothing is trapped inside the structure.

Sealing and clean-up

Once the roost is clear, every gap is permanently sealed and we advise on guano removal and insulation.

Please do not

Timing is a legal question, not a preference

There is a period each year when young bats cannot yet fly. Excluding during that window seals flightless young inside the structure, where they die in the wall. That is both illegal and a far worse problem for you than the bats were.

We will tell you the correct window for your property even when that means waiting. Any company willing to exclude at any time of year is not one you want on your roof.

What affects the price

Bat work is priced on access and the number of entry points, not on how many bats are present.

Properties we treat

Houses and bungalows

Full roofline survey, exclusion and permanent sealing with a photographic record.

Older heritage properties

Careful work on soft mortar and original fascia, sealing without damaging the fabric.

Barns and outbuildings

Rural buildings often host larger roosts and need staged exclusion across several access points.

Commercial and institutional

Discreet scheduling with documentation for facilities and insurance records.

Bat questions Saskatchewan property owners ask

No. There is a window during which young bats cannot fly, and excluding then would trap them inside. We will tell you the correct timing for your property rather than doing work that is both illegal and ineffective.

Bats are beneficial and generally avoid people, but any direct contact should be assessed by a health professional straight away. Accumulated guano is also a genuine respiratory hazard. Never handle a bat directly.

Not if the entry points are sealed properly. Bats return to the same roost by habit, so permanent sealing after exclusion is what ends the cycle.

Sometimes. Light contamination can often be left, while heavier accumulation affects insulation performance and air quality. We assess it and tell you honestly which applies.

Please do not. Sealing an active roost traps the colony inside, and they will find another way into the living space. Exclusion has to come first.

The exclusion devices stay in place for several days to let the whole colony clear, then we return to seal. Total elapsed time is usually one to two weeks.

Book a bat roost inspection

Regina bookings placed before 1pm are usually attended the same day. Saskatoon runs on a scheduled route.
